ExxonMobil announces record 2006 profits of almost 40 billion

Irving, Texas- The world's largest oil company, Texas-based ExxonMobil Corp, announced Thursday record profits in 2006 of 39.5 billion dollars due to higher oil prices and improved business in all sectors. The figure represented a 9 per cent improvement on the 2005 result of 36.1 billion dollars.
